Rules

  1. Build each foundation from Ace through King, keeping every suit together.
  2. In the tableau, stack cards downward in alternating colors.
  3. Only Kings can fill an empty tableau column.
  4. Turn cards from the stock three at a time, then recycle the waste when the stock is empty.
  5. Reveal every hidden card and move all 52 cards to the four foundations to win.

Choose Classic (draw three) for the traditional challenge, or Relaxed (draw one) when you want a more forgiving hand.

Controls

Tap a card and then tap its destination, or drag a face-up card stack on desktop and touch screens. Double-click a ready card to send it to its foundation. Space draws from the stock, H asks for a hint, Z undoes a move, and N starts a new deal.

A brief history

Solitaire, also known as patience, describes a family of one-player card games that became popular in Europe before spreading through printed rulebooks and personal computers. Klondike became the familiar default after its inclusion with Microsoft Windows in 1990.
