Warming the lights
Every board is generated from legal moves, so every circuit is solvable.
Rules
- Choose Daily Circuit, Classic 5 × 5, Progressive 6 × 6, or Progressive 7 × 7.
- Selecting one light toggles it and its direct neighbors: up, down, left, and right.
- Diagonal lights are not affected.
- Clear every light to finish the puzzle.
- Your score is your move count plus two penalty moves for every hint.
Daily Circuit uses the same seeded puzzle for everyone on a given day. Every board is built by applying legal moves to an empty board, so a solution always exists. The game shows the solver’s optimal move count as par, and your daily completion streak is stored locally.
A brief history
Lights Out was released as an electronic puzzle by Tiger Electronics in 1995. Its simple press-to-toggle rule turns the board into a small exercise in linear algebra and planning. Many later puzzle games borrowed the same neighborhood-switching idea.
